Shopping with the Heart

Brigitte Fetter from Germany

The first time I came to Hearts and Hands I fell in love the clothes, the unique store decor and the friendliness of the staff including lovely Elise the owner as well. It was completely a different experience then I had when shopping on Melrose and Sunset Blvd. in Beverly Hills.
Even so, the style and ambiance of Heart and Hands could easily fit in any of these boutiques of which I have shopped prior. I enjoy the friendly not pushy selling techniques and all the suggestions of her staff. My first time shopping was so very exciting and fun and I have shopped there many times and spent more than I have planned but not regretting anything. I love the clothes and have received tons of compliments, when I wear them I feel sexy, elegant, classy and confident with my figure because the clothes feel like my second skin. I could write a whole column about Heart and Hands because every time I’m there I have a different experience, but go and see for yourself.
Lots of good luck and many Hearts and Hands around the USA.

Designs of The Feminine

My desire as a designer is to capture the essence of the feminine, weaving together the empowered and the ultra sensual in a garment that brings beauty, refinement, joy and comfort to the wearer. Heart and Hands is the perfect venue for my work bringing together a creative and helpful staff with appreciative customers. It is a dream come true for a woman who wants to be clothed in beauty and desires to express herself in a uniquely elegant and stylish fashion.

Dinner with Lila

Dinner with Lila

Walking together down the shop lined avenue,
your impassioned words careen around my carefully pinned hair
my joyously alert heart my soft new brown dress
Our invisible breath…

It was obvious from the moment our eyes met…
This Woman’s Soul that we share will not Sleep tonight,
It must Howl (in a civilized, modern way),
As we stride the Razors Edge (in our sexy high heels).

It must pierce the Darkness with It’s ancient,
It’s effortless It’s reliable glance…
It must rotate on It’s axis analyze and articulate
Go belly up
Until Wisdom spills and spreads,
Until Love redeems.

In our words I momentarily forgot you…
Those words seemed to rise from my Own pores
From the Hidden Place
They rose to show their face,
My face, and yours.

It’s true then that we don’t exist apart from this…
This Common Woman’s Soul that claims us,
(when we forget we claim It not…)
We suffer and exalt as One,
Are lost, then found we root in mid-air
We Never Land.

Pathways to Thriving

Lola Broomberg

In the linear world we are led to believe that A leads to B and on to C, that momentum is a projectile, that getting there quicker is the objective.
Not so with women. We spiral and coil around each other with flickers and twists that are enfused by nature and magic. Come through the heavy curtains to the room in the back. There the fire is roaring and candles have been lit. In this place our words feed each other. Here our dreams herald our unfolding, each step, each learning opportunity is a delicacy for all to taste. The feast of ourselves is without begining or end. Spin with us and sing of your life’s intentions. Your voice may be honeyed croisssant, as my opinion is french onion soup. We have room for stews, breads, fruits and desserts. The table is sturdy with carved legs braced to support the weight of all that we bring. Do not fear that your souffle is floppy or your salad limp. Here we are all imperfect perfect. Leave your treat on the table and turn away from it to see all that is around you. Let us taste and chew and swallow until we are ready to dance. Our dance is the web of ourselves that weaves into our tapestry of communion. We do not grow alone, we develop in community. We develp community as we develop in community. Circling around each other; we bear witness, offer insight and create opportunities.
